Even though it is now technically fall, here in Austin it won’t feel like fall for another month of so. So, hunt.gather.style is having a summer sale at Etcetera, etc. this Saturday from 12-3. All our pieces will be between 5 and 20 dollars. There will be tons of summer pieces and a few pieces for fall. When it officially becomes fall here, we will have our big fall shop stocked with new pieces. Don’t live in town? We put a few new pieces up on our Etsy shop and will be adding more this week.
Yesterday morning was dedicated to photographing pieces for our hunt.gather.style online shop. Our motto is affordable vintage for the modern woman, but we did add a few pieces perfect for the true vintage lover this time around. We only picked a few pieces to start with and hope to add more soon. Locally we have a summer sale coming up, our big fall shop, and a special holiday shop that will be filled with cocktail dresses, sparkly jewelry, and evening clutches. Happy Friday!
I did some thrifting this weekend and found plenty of great stuff for our next hunt.gather.style shop. My favorite find of the weekend was this sequin top. Of course this isn’t the exact top I found; this one is on eBay. It is, however, the exact top I found. Apparently there were two women sporting a sequin nautical top years ago.
Did you find anything good this weekend?
My weekend was filled with new recipes, out-of-town friends, a pop-up shop, a bridal shower, an engagement party, and a bachelorette party. It was jam packed, but so enjoyable. On Friday I made a cauliflower pizza crust. It was really, really good. So good that my husband ate about 6 pieces. I think you should make this for dinner this week.
I changed the recipe a bit by adding more cauliflower and Parmesan cheese to the crust. Next time I would heat my pan first so the middle will crisp up a bit more. You would never know that this baked crust is cauliflower.
Topped and ready to be broiled. Saturday I had a bridal shower in the morning and our h.g.s vintage pop-up shop in the afternoon at Blue Elephant. It was great to meet new vintage lovers and see some of our customers from previous shops.
I’m wearing a vintage dress, JCPenny necklace, Banana Republic shoes, and hair that is finally fixed.
We had lots of great vintage bags. I can’t believe that vintage Coach didn’t get snatched up!
This amazing embroidered jacket was found by Grechen.
I ended Saturday with an engagement party and then a bachelorette party. Overall, it was a fantastic weekend, but I am a bit tired today! How was your weekend?
hunt.gather.style will be at Madewell next Saturday from 3-6. We have been hoarding a few of our best pieces for this upcoming shop. We have tons of great skirts for spring and summer, great dresses, and really unique tops. Plus, Madewell is offering 20% off everything. How great is that? We will be putting some sneak peeks on the blog next week. If you’re local, stop by next Saturday.
Yesterday was foggy, rainy, and gross overall. Regardless of the weather, Grechen, Sharon, and I met for our first hunt.gather.style Christmas party. Since it was a small party of three, we headed to Uchiko to celebrate. Wow. Delicious! If you live in the area, and haven’t been, you must go! Paul, the chef there, is also on Top Chef right now. Get the Brussels sprouts! BEST ones I have ever eaten.
My apologies for the grainy picture, but that is what you get when the weather is like this. Lately, if I am not in black, I am in shades of cream. I am kind of addicted. During the day I have been layering silk cream tops with cream cardigans and I can’t tell you how many times I have worn this dress recently. Sometimes pieces surprise you and this cream slip dress has been surprisingly versatile.

I have been wearing a lot of black lately. Anytime the temperature dips, I want to wear my black tights, which in turn leads to me wanting to wear black shoes. Since black shoes with black tights elongates the leg, that is what I always reach for. I attempted to add some color to my darker pallet by wearing a hot pink dress last Thursday for a mini hunt.gather.style pop-up. I think it is time to ban black from my wardrobe for a week and rely on bolder colors. Do you rely on black come winter?
