Leather Obsessed

I have been obsessed with leather pieces for quite sometime now.  I have lusted after leather tops and leather dresses.  Thanks to Sharon’s find, I snagged this leather top last week at half the price.  Currently, my budget is being used for Christmas presents, otherwise these two pieces would be in my closet.

I can see both of these pieces from Iris & Ink being really versatile.  Both would easily transition from day to night easily and would be perfect with a statement necklace– a favorite of mine.

What do you think of all the leather this season?  Are you partaking in the trend?

Most Comfortable Jeans

Hi.  Between guests in town for  the past week and a half, 12 hour work days, and my baby sister getting married, I have not had time to blog.  I have, however, found the most comfortable pair of jeans ever to exist.  Sharon recommended that I try these AG Prima Cigarette jeans, and let me just tell you, they are beyond comfortable.  They feel like what I would imagine pajama jeans to feel like.  I also love the higher rise and the 29 inch inseam.  On me they are the perfect ankle length and just what I have been looking for.  What have you been up to?

Current Elliott Jeans

I am in need of new jeans.  Since it has been quite some time since I bought a pair, I am in the market for 3 pairs: a lighter wash, a dark high-rise ankle length, and a new black skinny.  I bought a Refinery 29 deal a while back, so I will probably get one pair there.

I am thinking about buying  these jeans, but have never tried Current Elliott jeans.  Have you tried them?  Do you like them?  Do they run true to size? Many, many thanks in advance for your advice.

The Rolled Skinny Rambler

Oh, and happy Friday.  I am PUMPED that Friday is here.  I hope you are too.

Every Color

I want these gorgeous heels in every color.  They would be the perfect shoe to wear with a skinny ankle jean and simple silk top.

Stress Shopping

Being stressed means two things for me: breakouts and lots of online shopping.  When I am feeling a bit overwhelmed, I always end up purchasing things online.  While my wallet doesn’t appreciate this, my waistline is happy that I am not resorting to fistfuls of candy.  There have been several online purchases over the past couple of days, many of which will probably end up going back.  Have I also told you that I am a compulsive returner?  Anyways, this was my stress shopping purchase from yesterday.   Hopefully this one works out and doesn’t end up being returned.  Do you stress shop?

Bridesmaid Dress Update

I finally found a bridesmaid dress for my sister’s upcoming wedding.  Well, I found my second one.  Technically I already have one, but I just ordered another one because I am not in love with mine.

This dress is on its way to me!  I took advantage of Bloomingdale’s Friends and Family discount (FRIENDS12) and got 20% off.  This dress is a steal.  I am hoping it is as good in person as it is online.  I am also hoping that my sister will allow me to pair it with my new J. Crew necklace.

I really wanted this DVF dress to wear to the wedding and was going to buy it during the Bloomingdale’s sale too, but it disappeared. I am assuming it sold out.  It has also disappeared from the Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman site. And, it is not on the DVF website.   Did this fantastic dress just sell like hotcakes?

Look. At. That. Back.  It is gooooooooorgeous.  I am really hoping this dress pops up again.

While I don’t love my new dress as much as this DVF one, I do love that is 400 dollars cheaper.  That is a plus!

I hope you have had a fantastic week and are about to have an even better weekend!!!

Another J. Crew Necklace

The J.Crew necklace I posted about last week went on sale today.  Since there was an extra 30% off sale items, I snatched it up.  Now I am tempted by this guy.  How many statement necklaces does one girl need?  I say you can never have enough.

Animal Print

I do not own any traditional animal prints like cheetah or leopard, but I do own three dresses with animals on them–my version of animal prints.  I picked up this horse print dress at Stein Mart this past week.  It is really cute and comfortable.  If you find these in your local Stein Mart, I would recommend sizing down (something I failed to do).  I wore this to part one of my sister’s bachelorette/bridal shower weekend. I am really looking forward to fall and getting to wear this dress with my riding boots.

Ann Taylor Top

I popped into Ann Taylor a couple of weeks ago and tried on this top.  I absolutely loved it.  The fit is great and the high neckline is perfect for showing off a statement necklace.  Its only downside?  It is polyester. And they wanted 68 dollars for it.  I am not willing to pay almost 70 dollars for polyester.   While poly is great because it doesn’t wrinkle, it doesn’t breathe.  In Texas, you need clothes that breathe.  Now it is on sale for 40 dollars.  40 seems reasonable for a poly top.  What do you think?

Updates

Why, hello there.  I took a little unexpected blog break the past two weeks.  I certainly didn’t mean to do that.  Whoops.  I finally got my Gap ankle zip legging jeans in.  They are pretty fantastic except for the fact that they don’t fit.  My usual size does not fit and I will not be sizing up.  Why?  Well, they don’t fit because I have put on about 5 pounds or so over the summer.  This happens every summer.  One would think that wearing a bathing suit and short shorts most of the time would cause a weight loss, but for me, summer always means a weight gain.  I blame it on the endless BBQs, margaritas, and the lack of pants, which unlike my comfy summer dresses, keep my waistline in check.   So it is operation calorie counting, or simply not eating tons of queso and margaritas.  Then I will shop for pants.  If you have not gained weight this summer and are looking for a great pair of black jeans, then I highly recommend the Gap ones.  They are pretty great.  Don’t order this studio sweater though.  It is itchy.

I did purchase this gorgeous top from 81 Poppies.  It is beautiful.  I have seen versions of this top all over the internet, but unlike those, this is silk and made in the USA.

So, that is another piece off my list.  I still am hunting for dresses, and as already stated, holding off on pants for now.  What have you been up to?
